As underperforming schools hit arbitrary deadlines the chaos caused by students transferring, state takeovers, teachers' retiring, and school privatizating - the politicians and the public might be willing to see reason - better to have students attending school than wandering about unsupervised - economically NCLB is a windfall for corporations and a blight on public education. Don't expect academics to flourish in this environment. What a catastrophe! Who lives beneath the devil's tail these days?
