From Sudhakar:
What Goes around comes around
His son a recent USA collegiate graduate as a Manager of Information Science requires additional training in India before being job ready in the USA.
Sudhakar contrasts this with his own situation 30 years ago when the opposite was true.
India is on the right track, but it will take many years before they reach a standard of living commensurate with the education level being described. Average annual salary two years ago in India was about $1000 USD and there is less difference between salaries. By comparison, a $1000 is about what an average US family spends in a week. So its not hard imagine the US with 4% of the world population uses 25%? of the energy.
ReplyDeleteOn average, every time anyone spends an American dollar, the energy equivalent of half a liter
(2 1/4 cups) of oil is burned to produce what that dollar buys!
Using today's prices $4.50 per gallon, that dollar two years ago is today only worth 79 cents, when you adjust for energy price increases.
ReplyDeleteJust when you think its getting better...
ReplyDeleteAnyone hear of the Woods Fund?
Obama was a board member and they provided grants to 'reform' Chicago's public schools from 1995 until it went upside down in 2001.
That same year, Woods Fund gave a $6000 grant to Trinity United (Rev. Wright) to pay the Director (none other than Obama) less charitable deductions of $1470 to the church.
"The grant is especially interesting in view of Obama's sudden conversion to the faith based initiative started by President Bush."

This is not to say that McCain deserves my vote. He doesn't, but I'm a bit out of sorts that Obama appears to play the game just as badly.
Faith Based Initiatives (20 years of social reform - unfair hiring practices based on the social doctrine you support. Does US support a fascist agenda? Yes on all fourteen points.
