Dear partner in education:
SBE is busy with initiatives that have the potential to produce great results for our state's students. We are working hard to examine and improve graduation requirements. The Washington State Legislature has asked us to create a system of accountability and we are designing a system of shared responsibility to better support our schools and ensure no student falls through the cracks.
We must all work together to make sure these initiatives are effective and successful at every point in our K-12 system if we are to achieve the end goal - preparing all students for life after high school no matter what path they choose.
We value your input and this is why we are asking you to participate in a survey today. Included in this email is a link to an online survey that asks for your input on the board's current proposals related to graduation requirements and a system of shared responsibility.
Thank you for working with us to ensure all students receive a high quality education and are prepared for their future.
Please contact us at sbe@k12.wa.gov if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Edie Harding
