WA teacher of the year announced on 10-08-08
A high school language arts teacher from Roslyn-Cle Elum

Check the OSPI website:

You will notice that in viewing the nine regional finalists there is not a single reference to a math teacher. This is hardly a surprise given the materials that OSPI has pushed for math.

OSPI has done a fabulous job of reducing math competence in our state, and providing math teachers with poor materials and a useless plan to improve anything.

USA k-12 math remains in free fall mode.
